Aart95
www.consoleproducts.nl I tried several things to improve the website's speed (compressing images and changing setting within prestashop) but my website still seems to be extremely slow. Any tips? Thanks
Dh42
What are your hosting specs, it seems your issue might be server based.
Aart95
What are your hosting specs, it seems your issue might be server based. What settings did you change in Prestashop? And as above, where are you hosting the website? The site is also pretty slow for me, perhaps you should upgrade your hosting? I'm using hostnet.nl, Specs - 5GB disk space - 100GB data traffic - 5 mailboxes - PHP 5.6 & MySQL 5.5 - Website maker lite - 5 MySQL Database(s)
Aart95
Well, firstly hostnet.nl itself takes about 30 seconds to load for me which is ridiculously slow. Secondly, packages with things like 5 mailboxes / 5 databases are generally very low spec packages on shared hosting. So it does look like you need to move hosts to get a faster site. Thank you for your reply! Does anyone have recommedations for a new hosting service? Also what package would be good enough?
puffdade
Aart95 I use a company called EUKhost I had so many problems on one of those basic packages, my site which is very popular was always overloaded I went for the slightly cheaper VPS service, the page loads fast and I get around 4000 hits a day its cheaper than a full dedicated and they done everything for me they migrated the whole shooting match while I sat back and watched, 24 hours tech support too which I need. it was about 500 English a year.
