lemonpromotions
Can someone please just give me a straightforward answer here ? http://www.ourladysgiftshop.com/312-hand-painted-crosses How do I remove the 312 from that URL to a Prestashop 1.6.0.9 category ? Or even the 2 from this URL ? http://www.ourladysgiftshop.com/hand-painted-crosses/2-10-cm-children-of-the-world-united-wood-cross.html Do I need to remove them ? Do Google and the other search engines really care that much ? I know others know much more than me about these kind of things, so try and bear that in mind if you want to help me - we are not all code gods which is why some of us use Prestashop in the first place. Also - Browseo appears to show this as Googles view of a standard Prestashop website: http://www.browseo.net/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ourladysgiftshop.com%2F312-hand-painted-crosses Does that seem right or should the information above "> Hand Painted Crosses" be removed from the site map on the prestashop backend? If so which sections on Google Sitemap module do I need to select to remove safely so that the sitemap module does not add unwanted sections ? Thank you !!! El Patron
Search engines (google) do not care about this since 2010. To do so requires core changes and I have not seen one yet that works completely especially when one upgrades it takes PrestaNerd to re-implement. I do not, nor have I ever, recommended removing anything from the URL that you cannot do from back office. I hope this helps you and others. lemonpromotions
That is brilliant and straight forward advice - thank you so much El Patron. Could you tell me which sections I should select from that graphic above to block from the sitemap so that the extraneous results do not appear at the top and google sees the product information immediately ? Although looking at it again, this isnt a sitemap problem is it....damn I am REALLY confused now Again, thank you Nick Edited September 30, 2015 by lemonpromotions (see edit history)
