Remove Date of Birth from Registration

is it possible to remove the DOB field from the registration screen?

I am also interested in removing this together with the gender selection. I guess it is something you can choose in the admin section but I cannot find out where it is.

To do that you will need to edit authentication.php, identity.php, identity.tpl and authentication.tpl

You will need to remove the relevant input elements from the tpl files and remove the relevant data validation from the php files. Pretty straightforward, haven't seen any option to remove them differently in BO tbh.

This should be a few clicks in the admin panel - not some php hack... this is a CMS in 2016

so not possible in 1.6?  I already hid the code for both those files (the sections I mentioned) and recompiled, cleared cache etc... so very frustrating
