Problem with putting product on homepage by selecting it in 2 categories.

We have products on our homepage which have had the "home" category selected as well as the category in which it appears in the navigation.

So it appears twice on the site. The one where it appears on the site has the breadcrumbs so it is obvious what category it is in so it is easy for customers to find related products.

However the product on the homepage gets ranked much higher by Google and people find this easier than anything else on the site and when they go on the page there is only the home category breadcrumb. 

Is there another way to feature products on the homepage without doing this?
