Upgrade from PS 1.5.6.2 to latest reasonable working edition.

i read a lot of feedback about latest PS 1.6.1. that it is slow and so on. If there is possibility to upgrade and make it working really fast please let me know. I need to upgrade my PS to 1.6.1.
