Errors upgrading from 1.3.6 to 1.4.x

Recommended Posts

Hi dear readers!

I am new to PS and am trying to learn and at the same time upgrade our webshop from ver 1.3.6 to something newer. Since it is really old I am trying to upgrade it in small steps and try to avoid too many errors at the same time. But I cant even get it past ver 1.4.0.17. All tries that aim for something from ver 1.4.x result in these/this error:

( ! ) Deprecated: mysql_connect(): The mysql extension is deprecated and will be removed in the future: use mysqli or PDO instead in D:\wamp\www\prestashop_1.4.0.17\classes\MySQL.php on line 34 Call Stack #TimeMemoryFunctionLocation 10.0005267512{main}( )..\model.php:0 20.0023434048include_once( 'D:\wamp\www\prestashop_1.4.0.17\install\xml\doUpgrade.php' )..\model.php:78 30.04001658464ConfigurationCore::loadConfiguration( )..\doUpgrade.php:230 40.04001663400DbCore::getInstance( )..\Configuration.php:289 50.04011664232DbCore->__construct( )..\Db.php:88 60.04011664320MySQLCore->connect( )..\Db.php:111 70.04011664368mysql_connect ( )..\MySQL.php:34

I am using the latest version of WAMP when upgrading. Would it be possible to avoid these errors if I used an older version of apache and php? Or can someone help me to understand what all this means?? How many errors are there and could they all be fixed if I do some magic trick with the mySQL.php-class?

Or am I doomed to not upgrade at all? (I have tried to do a manual upgrade to 1.5 and 1.6 and so on also with mixed bad results...

Hi, that is not an error, it's informational and would not cause in itself termination of script.

You may also want to consider 1.6.1.1 build fresh, then export important information from your 1.3 and import to 1.6.

You are going to love 1.6...good luck!

here is search for upgrading 1.3-1.6

Ok, I have seen 1.6 and it looks good. BUT, I am really having trouble migrating to 1.6. I have tried to export information from 1.3 to 1.6 but the database-tabels are not really consistent. Like the products-table has several new columns and some other columns that has been removed. I am not really sure how to import my old tables into 1.6? I can use wordpad, excel and then modify the tables there and then export them again to wordpad/notes. But its not really easy.

I would like to explore the way with going through 1.4 first. Can I ignore or avoid the errors I get while upgrading?  My problem as I see it is that I cant click on the "finish" button when upgrading so I am not sure what is really happening with the upgrade. )=
