How do Ichange the order of manufacturers in the block manufacturer

Hello!

 

The manufacturers are obviously ordered by ID. the ID cannot be edited (or can it) which is disappointing.

This way I see no possibility to change the order to alphabetical or by the number of products.

 

BTW: the backend can do it why not the frontend?

No one knows how to sort the output of the manufacturer block module? 

 

I thought this is a core element of prestashop.... where do I get documentation on the module manufacturer?
