Updating from ver 1.3.6 to ver 1.6.1

Recommended Posts

Hi!

We have a "old" prestashop website, ver 1.3.6, and we need to update it to at least ver 1.6. But is it even possible? I have tried to follow the manual update-manual (http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS15/Manual+update) and I have created a home environment with WAMP that seems to work fine with both our old website and also with a new one I created with PS 1.6.1. I have made backups of the database, of all files and then tried to copy all neccecary files from the old shop to a new folder called prestashop-prep. But when the update is finished it reports 34 errors! And I cant make head or tail of it all.

Is it even possible to update from 1.3.6? Is there any good alternatives? We have a webshop that sells stuff, should we just scrap all the old thing and just start over in a new "shop" based on ver 1.6.1. (It doesnt really appeal to me I have to say)

All help is appreciated!

Well, I have now tried to upgrade from 1.3.6 to 1.4.11 and that never finished, it just worked for over an hour before I stopped it. Then tried with 1.4.4 and got a js-error at the start so I switched to 1.4.5 and got the following error but it finished! I cant make head or tails of this error message. Can anyone that is better at sql and so on help me maybe?

You may have to:

  1. Fix the error(s) displayed
  2. Put your database backup
  3. Modify the file settings.inc.php to put the old version for the line with _PS_VERSION_
  4. Restart the upgrade process from the begining
