Email SMTP errors and redirection to homepage from BO version 1.2.5

hi all!

I checked my smtp server without prestashop and it's working. But prestashop fails to send emails. I tried the fix with removing 5th param in mailsend.php as stated in some solutions. Didn't work.

Then I tried to print the exception,Swift_ConnectionException, thrown by Mail::Send() and more frustratingly now I get redirected to homepage after trying to send any type of email from prestashop!


So at first I need to know why is it redirecting! I could at least debug where exactly the problem lies.

Sorry not to be able to solve the problem.

I also have the same version of prestashop, and sending emails via my SMTP isn't working either.

My SMTP is working fine otherwise and I checked my parameters, they are fine. Is this a known bug?

If I choose to use phpmail() then it works, but in the headers, the from fields says "[email protected]", which is wrong, there should not be any www in the address, so this too is strange. Maybe the problem with the SMTP comes from this incorrect field?

Hi, I was experiencing this problem as well as tried lots of the other email fixes that were on this forum with no sucess. I finally tried the solution listed here which involved deleting the folder in tools/swift and replacing it with the version from prestashop1.1

I did this and SMTP email started working again, im not sure what the developers did between v1.1 and v1.2.5 regarding email but it obviously broke for several people. Hopefully it will be fixed when V1.3 is released
