Adjusting homepage logo

Recommended Posts

I was unable to upload a replacement home page logo through the editor as I kept getting an error message telling me my graphic file was too large. After reading a number of posts here I figured out how to replace the homepage_logo.jpg with my own file but at that point my knowledge comes to an unfortunate end and I need some help. How could I adjust the placement of that new image so that it is centered on the page?

Thanks for your help.

ok you need to change the global.css file in themes/css to accomodate the new logo. then you can use the back office to change the image when ever you wish.
#header-wrap {
width: 100%;
height: 220px;
}
#header {
float: left;
height:50px;
width: 99%;
text-align: right;
padding-top: 20px;
padding-left: 5px;
background: #DDE9F4;
border: 0;
}
is what I uused for mine at http://beta.shoptoolsusa.com/shoptoolstore

can change colors to match the background of the image if you want to

Rylersbud,

I paid attention to your post and made the adjustments you suggested. Thank you. It didn't solve my problem however, that's because I used the wrong terminology when asking the question. I see that your shop logo is very large and see what you did; the logo I am trying to adjust is the secondary logo that is placed in the center area below the homepage logo and is entered through the front page text editor module. I'm attempting to center it on the page and don't know exactly where to go to impact the placement - it seems to be aligned to the left, I need it centered.

Sorry for the misunderstanding you need to edit the editorial block in modules I am playing with that now but you can go to the back office and there is a tool home text edito in modules that helps with that section BO->Home text editor then configure and it edits what you need

Hi, if you want to change your homepage logo,and you can't do it from your back office, you can do it this way:
enter in modulus/editorial/ and delete the homepage_logo.jpg and upload there the new logo with the same name.

Kate - thanks - unfortunately the centering command doesn't seem to work and I've tried it a couple of different ways. If I tell it to go to the right it works fine but not center. I have a fellow I work with who knows a bit more about this than I do and he's tried it as well and is convinced that it's a bug in the formating code but I'll live with it. I noted that on your site the graphic is about the width of the center section in any case so perhaps I'll simply have a graphic about that large created and solve the problem that way.

I saw somewhere else that you were asking about discounting a product based on quantity. The site I'm putting up had some special code written for it that adjusts the prices of any one of the 400 or so items based on the total number of items (any item) ordered and prompts the user to add to the order by showing what the next savings quantity discount would be. I've seen the prototype of it and will be ready shortly to implement it.

Again, thanks for your response and you have a nice site. Cards are cool.

Hey Don,

Sorry I couldn't help! What you are describing with your price discount sounds really cool, I'd love to see it in action when you have it all up and running.

Thanks for the comments about my site. I have a looong way to go (and tons more product to add), but I'm getting there, slowly but surely!

Best wishes with your prestashop site.

Kate
