Horgans Lifestyle
Hello, Firstly, apologies if this is a very basic issue. My general position is in design but I've been thrown the job of managing the website and I am rather clueless with these and am only working out what I can as I go! I received the email stating a need, for security issues, to update to the latest Prestashop, 1.6.1.0. I installed the Automatic downloader, backed everything up (as it was suggested) and installed the new software. When it was installed, the Prestashop back office certainly appeared impressive. Much nicer layout etc, however when I turned everything back on and re-enabled the website, it was essentially blank. Our logo remained, and remnants of the login page - however, essentially, the whole website was gone. I tried to 'rollback' to get everything back online, but failed rather miserably. Instead, I had to call our provider and have them reinstate from an earlier backup the day before (not ideal). How do I update, and reinstate all the information? Apologies again if this is a ridiculous question. Regards, Spencer
iown
The message you received had a link to a patch for version 1.4 to overcome the security issue that is the easiest thing for you to do. If you really want to upgrade you will need to do a lot of research do full backups and upgrade to 1.5 then to 1.6 (allow 4 hours downtime). Hope this helps Keith

Horgans Lifestyle
Except for one issue. I've just noticed that we're only running 1.4.9.0 at the moment. Should the patch work all the same, in your opinion?
