cj
I am at step 4 and it will not progress. I have searched and seen some posts about leaving the email notification unchecked but if I do apparently it will not send emails. The question is what sort of emails won't I be getting? Is it important?Other posts also mention that the email configuration may not be correct. I have not done a manual email config. I just entered an email address in the box at the bottom of step 3. If I do a manual configuration exactly what do I need to enter?
cj
In the box for SMTP Server: it already has smtp. Do I delete that and replace it with my mail server username info+domain.com or with the incoming/outgoing mail server mail.domain.com ?
cj
Ok, so I have tried a manual email config using mail.domain.com for the SMTP server and info+domain.com for the login which I got from my account settings. I also had [email protected] in the email box for sending a test to. I have tried going to step 4 with and without sending a test. The test didn't work and I have to keep deleting and recreating the database each time I go back to step 3. I cannot get past step 4 although I have not yet tried unchecking the email notification box as I still don't know what these notifications would be about. Can someone please tell me what these notifications are that I would not be getting?
cj
Can the email configuration/notification be done following the install once it is all up and running or does it have to be done during the install?
rocky
Ticking that box simply automatically installs the "Mail alerts" module and sets it up so that new order and out-of-stock emails are sent to the email address you entered during the install. If you leave it unticked, the module is not installed automatically. Don't worry about leaving it unticked, since you can manually install the "Mail alerts" module after installing Prestashop. cj
Thank you for your reply.I have now got all the way through by leaving the notification unchecked but I cannot access either the front or back end. I get http500 errors. Hmmm, looks like it's back to square one to see what I may have missed.
