hello,

[1] I installed yesterday the latest Prestahop (said to be 1.6.1.0) on my website, hosted by InMotionHosting (IMH). I used IMH "softaculous" tool. Installation went fine. After installation, the shop demo seems to be properly installed.ok here.

[2] I want to have mirrors of this official site on development computers (Windows 7, with Apache and PHP). Therefore, as explained in your docs, I downloaded Prestashop zipfile from your site on a PC, copied it to the relevant place, unzipped it.

[3] At this stage I compare the Prestashop files on both hosts (IMH and local). They are DIFFERENT. Numerous differences, including FUNCTIONAL differences..

Both installations tell, in prestahop/docs/CHANGELOG.txt, that they are 1.6.1.0. But the contents of the CHANGELOG is different (I have attached them).

QUESTIONS:

Q1: how may it happen that PRESTASHOP supplies two different softwares with the same version number? I find this totally unprofessional. What do you think?

Q2: now that the mess is here (two different installations), how can I synchronize? I obviuosly want to have a single and OFFICIAL release on both hosts. Which version is the "best", or which version should I use as a reference for further developments?

Best regards,

Bruno Bonnefont

I think you first need to speak with your host and determine how they packaged their scripts.  I don't think anyone from Prestashop is going to tell you how your host created their softaculous script.

As for what you are trying to do (create a mirror site), just take a copy of your actual store and database and use that.  That is the only way to ensure you have an exact mirror
