PayPal API Question/Problem

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to use the built in PayPal API v1.0 in prestashop to accept payment directly on my site, not forward the customer to a paypal page.

Here are the basics on my site:
Prestaship version: Version 1.2.5.0
I have and SSL certificate installed.
I'm using PayPal with Website Payments Pro
I've configured API Signature

The PayPal API module is configured as:
Sandbox mode: No
Express Checkout: No
Banner image URL: (set)
API user: my username here
API password: my password here
API signature: my signature here

So everything appears to be configured properly, but when i checkout and click "I Confirm my Order" i directed to a paypal page with a login box.

This is not what i'm looking to do. I don't want my customers to leave my site. I though that was the point of API.

Am i doing something wrong? Or does prestashop just not support it?

Thanks,
Seth

The paypal Api is very similar to the regular paypal module, it does not retain customers on your site.

There is a Paypal Pro module that lets you do that, however, if your site is big enough, you should consider using a real payment gateway, and not rely only on paypal.

There are many payment modules for gateway that keep the user on your site (there are a few on my site).

Do you already connect your paypal to a bank account our creditcard account? I have the same problem and i'm waiting for verification of my bank account and hope the problem is over..

A client has encountered a problem with the module PayPalAPI, see the report:

keep you posted..

Assuming that was a question, the answer would be no. We have done a lot of research and where a payment page is "off site" such as this option, buyers tend to abandon their cart, losing you sales.

The only option is to keep the buyer onsite if you are serious about having a business online.
