HH Services Limited
After upgrading to ps 1.6.1 my store goes slightly slower, should I go back to ps 1.6.06?. Thanks
HH Services Limited
Well its not just slightly slower, it is about 25% slower... Anyone may know why?
Guest
WOW - for me that is lightning fast. Could be a local cache issue. Clear the caches in your compute browser. Then if the problem persists show us some page speed analysis so we can see any potential issues. Use something like google page speed to test
HH Services Limited
In google pagespeed, the new ps gets better score with a difference (76 vs 84), but on every speed testing site including my own judgment from here, the new ps ranks slower and with a difference. I will keep looking into this and post more findings whenever I get them but in the meantime I am chosing the old ps because of its speed. Probably something is not right, I keep investigating... Guest
According to this testing site https://varvy.com/pagespeed/ Your "slower" site is actually faster So, did you clear caches? Why do you think it is slower? Can you run some speed tests and show us the results?
HH Services Limited
This site uses many different locations and gives averages: As you can see the difference is very substantial The site that you mentioned analyzes issues that like pagespeed and yes they show that the latest ps is better optimized, but when it comes to speed, the results show the oldest site as the fastest one. Guest
Try gmetrix- that also thinks the new site is a little faster. But it will also help you analyse what is taking the time. https://gtmetrix.com/
HH Services Limited
Try gmetrix- that also thinks the new site is a little faster. But it will also help you analyse what is taking the time. https://gtmetrix.com/ Sorry to bother but I thought that you may find this interesting and maybe bring some light into this. After analyzing and comparing the two sites GTmetrix gives a higher score to the latest ps, but in speed in raks lower and then it ranks lower on "leverage browser caching" and "Specify a character set early" Any idea on how to perform the right changes and which code to add to the .htaccess file? HH Services Limited
After changing the setting on my server "Static Cache Expiry" to a higher value as 1st snapsot indicates, part of the problem was solved. It is still something missing to fully fix the problem, anyone has any idea on how to solve the issues shown on the second snapshot? Guest
Those are external to your site so I don't think you can do anything about them (facebook, google fonts etc)
HH Services Limited
THanks... I am still however facing the same issue: newest ps is slower from my end and from all tests I have done. GTmetrix rates better over all the new ps, but gives it a slower rank, samething with other tests as seen in the snapshots and for the sites: http://www.highesthelp.com/ (old ps) and http://prestashop-5594-21342-49646.cloudwaysapps.com/ (same upgraded site and on clonned server, meaning same type of server). Please note that google pagespeed ranks better over all the upgraded version of ps but it always says that the server takes longer time to respond... Any thoughts as why?
