Product list shows list instead of grid as default

Even if my product-list.tpl shows "grid" as default selection, my product list is showing "list" on page load. How can I change it, meaning, restore it to properly work as default?

Nevermind.

 

In Settings, option "Display categories as a list of products instead of the default grid-based display" solves the issue.
