Changes to .tpl files won't show

Hi,

I'd like to begin by saying I read every post about the problem I could find, but none of them helped me. Hence my question.

 

I am trying to modify registration form so that there is no date of birth question and that the checkboxes are mandatory and have different labels. I found the answer to change authentication.tpl file of my theme and delete a part of code. I also need to have force compilation set as well as disable cache. I did that and then I cleaned smarty cache and compilation files.

 

I did all that and even deleted the cookies on my machine, but whatever I do, the date of birth question stays.

 

I found an answer to make sure I modify the theme files, not the core files. That is what I did. I am using prestashop 1.6 with default-bootstrap theme.

 

So, to sum up, the tl;dr version:

 

modify authenticate.tpl to delete the date-of-birth code - checked

make sure the file is a theme, not a core file - checked

Force-compile theme files - checked

Disable cache - checked

flushed cache manually - checked

 

Problem: No changes in the files are reflected in the front office.

 

 

Any suggestions please?

Don't mind me. The code for date picker was inserted twice in that file.
