Saving a copy locally using WAMP

Recommended Posts

Hi. Hope someone can help with this.

I have my store set up online and would like to save a copy of this to my local machine using WAMP. I have done a fresh prestashop install into the www folder of WAMP. I have then exported my database from my online server to my local machine using PHPmyAdmin and imported this using PHPmyAdmin in WAMP. I can now view my store using WAMP however when I attempt to log into the backoffice it does not recognise my email address or password.

Any ideas where I have gone wrong?

Thanks

I was having the same problem when I tried to view my backed up data online and eventually found the solution here

In case anyone else has the same issue basically the COOKIE_KEY & COOKIE_IV values change when you link another database and you therefore have to manually update the settings.inc.php file with the original values.

Hi Rolo

I have loaded succesfully my shop on wamp server but when I test changes on wamp server my hosted shop registes these changes. Would I need to change COOKIE_KEY & COOKIE_IV in settings.inc.php to avoid this problem?

Cheers :-)

I think I found it, need to change the database names in settings.inc.php ...
