Lone
First of all the whole PrestaShop system is looking great and cant wait to see it go final but unfortnatly I am having problems getting past the 4th step in the installer. My system is running PHP5 and mySQL 5 as well.. I passed all of the other steps fine (DB test etc.) but when I press 'next' on the 4th step it doesn't proceed in either Firefox or IE. The interesting thing though is that when I look in the DB there has been a user added to the 'ps_employee' table using the details I entered on Step 4. I tried to just leave the installer and login to admin (after deleting install dir and changing admin dir name) but says incorrect details so Im guessing something else has been missed when step 4 didnt continue. Peter Wilson
Hi Lone, Welcome to the PrestaShop Forum We're not sure what the problem is; we need a few more clues to help us figure it out. Can you tell us the name of your hosting service and perhaps give us a link to its Website? Thanks in advance.

Lone
Its actually on two different development servers I have that it is having problems on - haven't tried it on our live server as of yet but below are the configs of each: Server 1 Linux (Ubuntu) PHP 5.2.1 MySQL 5.0.38 Server 2 Windows (XAMPP) PHP 5.2.3 MySQL 5.0.45 Both getting the same problems as described in my first post. Also the same as what siewing has posted.
netrover
I also have this problem. I am using htaccess to switch to php5 as it's not default on my server. When my host changed to php5 it messed up a load of other domains on the server. I really like the look of this cart so they put php5 with some sort of cgi switch. I even got an admin password reminder but it's not having it. Thinking I might have to go back to zencart. Also the default layout has the logo under the search box in IE but is ok in firefox. James
Have you tried to re set your password via the login box? When I had this problem, I added a new username and password in the ps_employee table. Then the MD5 password would not work. I simply reset password, and it sent me a new password via email. It logs in fine.

drub
Yes. Same problem with Step 4 on my installation. At the "Shop Configuration" screen, step 4. Supplied appropriate data in all the fields. Press the "Next" button. Nothing happens. The 4th step remains painted in the browser.Any ideas for resolution? In general, how does one gain hints about the problem. I don't find prestashop log files. I don't find abnormalities being listed in /var/log/apache2/error.log (Ubuntu 9.04).Many thanks!Ubuntu 9.04PHP 5.2.6-3ubuntu4.1MySQL 5.0.75-0ubuntu10.
