françoisb
Hello everybody, I'm going to start a new project with a fresh installation of 1.6.1.0, and I was worried about the bugs some people talked about. As thepan told me in other thread: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/451074-prestashop-v1610-is-now-available/page-3?do=findComment&comment=2090989 - it's safe (no bugs) to begin a fresh installation. - it could be unsafe (yes bugs) to upgrading thought 1-click upgrading. This information let me thinking about the future and how to be sure about te shop integrity after upgrading. Detecting bugs after updating could be quite difficult. So the question is: Is there any procedure for checking bugs on an updated Prestashop? Maybe a checklist? How to be sure there isn't any bug after upgrading? Checking all the functionalities one by one? Thanks,
parsifal
Hello francois. There is a generic checklist in the official documentation: http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS16/Manual+update#Manualupdate-Teststoperformonyourupdatedproductionstore It is listed under the "Manual Update" chapter, but it could be useful in other cases also. Guest
"This is not a complete list; you should perform as many tests as possible." You need to write your own test scenarios, at least then you will know what is failing by following the exact same procedure over and over. It takes time to do this but it will greatly improve your testing abilities and problems will be pin-pointed exactly. A Test scenario could consist of writing down a possible path a guest will make: - order flow - membership flow - email flow are just a few examples You can even automate this: http://www.seleniumhq.org/ Definitely worth time investment!
