Email notifications to admin store NOT WORKING?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone please help me because I am either crazy and stupid or blind but it seem I cannot find the way to receive the email notification about customer's order. I've tested myself as a customer I ordered some product from the store and used my gmail email for registration. I got the email instantly after purchase 'As a Customer' but as Admin of the store - NOTHING. Like it doesn't exist at all. I setup contact details of the store in Preferences and there it is my email of the store which is working btw, but doesn't receive notifications about purchase.

I am using latest 1.6.0.9 version.

Razaro,

Why would I need Module in order to receive the email notification when a customer makes an order?

By the way this Email Alert module has this description:

The module will allow you to know how many customers are waiting for a product and to obtain your customers mail address who wishes to receive an alert when a product will be out of stock.

I don't need that. I need a simple email to be sent automatically to the admin of the store, so he can knows when orders are made. Why would I pay for such trivious function?

I have to say my opinion about Prestashop starts to change in a bad sence when I bump into some ridiculous problem like this. There are also other problems too which I'm not even trying to resolve becouse they are insanely simple functions like when I click on Categories in backend and I select some category and it suppose to list all products under this particular category - well I get nothing - just empty field like no products at all. But when I go to Products and search by this category - there they are all

Email alerts (mailalerts) is free module that come by default.

And for your second question, you maybe expect something else but when you click on Categories and specific category it does not display products form that category, it display if any, sub-categories. And like you said on Products it can be filtered by category.

Ok razaro, got it for the second question. About email alerts is it labeled like> Email Alerts v3.5.2 - by Prestashop

It is not installed, weird thing is when i try to install any module all the changes I have made in theme are gone, theme gets reset. And it's default 1609 theme btw.

Yeah that is weird, installing module should not reset theme, just add block in front office.

What changes have you done and where ? Could you give more info, some settings in back office or code change , some example ?

Also if you can share your store url.

And yes, sorry, that is right module, have not been precise maybe.

Ok razaro, I will try to install this module and see if makes any change, hopefully would...

The changes I have made are mostly visual and translation based, so no actual code is changed.

I am kind of in total mess with the looks and would not share store url if you don't mind of course.

I used to work with cscart few years back and never ever encounter such problems, but that was 2.1.xx pro version I bought it from cscart but cannot upgrade to latest version and honestly I was thinking about trying prestashop for a long time and this is it now. What I mostly don't like is that you have to purchase stupid modules for simple actions like clearing the cache and such. But that's a life, not fair as usual.

Yes there are lot of paid modules, for different features, but by default Prestashop do come with good amount of modules

and features for free. Some are maybe not visible straight away.

And you do not have to buy module for clearing cache, there is button on top right in Advanced Parameters > Performance.

Check documentation http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS16/English+documentation and search for maybe free alternatives

for paid modules you find. Also search forum for possible modification of some features, or post what functionality you need.

And please do not call paid modules stupid, even if some look simple, some time and effort is needed to make one. In documentation there

is quick guide how to make one and default modules are on github so you can easily search/look for some code examples.
