Upgrade from 1.6.0.14 to 1.6.1.0 and now "No image available" instead of thumbnails?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I just updated my Prestashop from 1.6.0.14 to 1.6.1.0 and all my thumbnails related to cart are now showing "No image available" instead of the actual product image thumbnails.

When doing an "Inspect Element" in Firefox to see to what URLs the images are pointing to, I get the URLs shown on the attached pictures.

Also, I am using a premium theme but everything was fine with Prestashop 1.6.0.14.

Any ideas what could be the cause?

See attached pics for details...

Cheers

Dan

try regenerating images from the images settings.

preferences > images > regenerate

if it fails try doing 1 category at a time as it is common to time out.

Also make sure that when applying update the folder for images on your server has appropriate permissions such as 755 i think.

Hi guys, thanks for the responses.

My theme is compatible with Prestashop 1.6.0.14 (Not yet 1.6.1.0) but I don't think the problem is with the theme because I have the same problem using the default-bootstrap theme.

The problem is not with the thumbnails, as they are created, but rather with the URLs that is pointing to the wrong paths.

See pictures in my first post.

For example, the paths on the above pictures are for item 137.

The path for the picture on the product page is:

http://www.miraxsupplements.com/137-large_default/colloidal-silver-15ppm-50ml-with-nasal-sprayer.jpg

But looking at the above pictures, you see the path relating to the cart are:

https://www.miraxsupplements.com/img/p/en-default-home_default.jpg

for the "Product successfully added to your shopping cart" window

and

https://www.miraxsupplements.com/img/p/en-default-small_default.jpg

for the checkout page

and

https://www.miraxsupplements.com/img/p/en-default-cart_default.jpg

for the cart block.

(It doesn't matter what items are in the cart, if will always show the above paths for the images for the cart)

When looking at the following URLs, you will see that the thumbnails are on the server at these locations:

http://www.miraxsupplements.com/137-home_default/colloidal-silver-15ppm-50ml-with-nasal-sprayer.jpg

http://www.miraxsupplements.com/137-small_default/colloidal-silver-15ppm-50ml-with-nasal-sprayer.jpg

http://www.miraxsupplements.com/137-cart_default/colloidal-silver-15ppm-50ml-with-nasal-sprayer.jpg

Not sure why it is not pointing to the right paths???

Any ideas...

Cheers

Dan

Since yesterday i have upgraded 3 eshops from 1.6.0.14 to 1.6.1.0. Two of them working fine but on the third I have the exact same issue. The cart thumbnails are showing "No image available".

Hi! Are all 3 eshops using the default-bootstrap them or do you have premium themes?

Regards!

hello,

I just updated my store and had that issue.

It was a permissions issue with my themes folder.

Before changing permissions i tried regenerating clearing cdn cache etc

after permissions a simple f5 then it worked.

Thanks for your post keitaro.

I am glad you were able to fix your problem by doing the above.

Which files/folders in the theme directory did you changed?

I have checked my theme's permissions and all folder are 755 and all files are 644, so this is probably not the fault in my case.

I don't use cdn cache, so this option is not going to work either.

I did a clear cache and Force compilation in my BO prior and that didn't help.

So, I guess I will keep looking for a solution...

:o(

Thanks for the info anyway

I have the same problem.
can someone upload the modified file?

Here is the modified one...

Make sure to disable and clear your cache first.

Also, make a copy of the original Cart.php file before in case something goes wrong.

Cart.php

www.andr3wx86.com, i just have to pull it out of maintenance.. still working on it...

I don't have access to your shop because I'm in Canada.

When doing a "view image info" on the image that is empty with "No image available", do you see an URL looking like this:

your_URL.com/img/p/en-default-home_default.jpg

Ok, did you clear your cache, Force compilation and disable cache in your Back office before replacing the Cart.php file?

You may be also loading your page from your browser's cache, load your page and do a Ctrl F5 to assure you are not loading from cache and see if it become ok...

First of all - THANKS! for the fix. It works great!

This is how it worked for me:

Override the Cart.php with the modified one from this thread.

Before loading the page, do the following:

Delete the cache files manually in your template folder on the FTP. "/prestashop install/themes/default theme/cache/". Don't delete the index.php file if it exists in the folder!

After that you will have to manually delete the cache files and folders in "/prestashop install/cache/cachefs/" except the index.php file.

Finally delete the smarty cache in "/Prestashop install/cache/smarty/cache/" except the index.php file.

Now hit CTRL+F5 in your browser and the issue is solved :)

Can you confirm that the thumbnails are indeed on the server?

For example: http://www.andr3wx86.com/item ID#-cart_default/itemDescription.jpg

(Replace what is in red by an actual item ID number and its description)

The url to the images goes like below:

(myurl)/img/p/1/1.jpg

(myurl)/img/p/1/1/11.jpg

(myurl)/img/p/1/1/1/111.jpg

(myurl)/img/p/1/1/0/110.jpg

(myurl)/img/p/2/8/28.jpg

etc.

Hello,

Your example is not completely right, it's not the "item ID#", but the "Image ID#" that we have to replace in your example.

By replacing your URL in this way, the link is working, but the new classe file cart.php don't work for me. Home and Cart images do not work, still the bad :

At home:

<img src="osram-ampoule-e14-led-4watt-couleur-lumire-jour" alt="OSRAM, ampoule E14 LED 4watt, couleur lumière jour.">

At the cart, exactly the same:

<img src="osram-ampoule-e14-led-4watt-couleur-lumire-jour" alt="OSRAM, ampoule E14 LED 4watt, couleur lumière jour.">

The good links should be:

http://www.commercecenter.eu/9604-home_default/osram-ampoule-e14-led-4watt-couleur-lumire-jour.jpg

http://www.commercecenter.eu/9604-cart_default/osram-ampoule-e14-led-4watt-couleur-lumire-jour.jpg

Mmm, that is weird, in my case, it is the "ID#" that you see for the products catalog in the Backoffice...

Looking at your links above, I see that you did not setup your Friendly URLs to show "Accented URL".

It would be a good idea to either fix your friendly URLs for your products or activate the "Accented URL" feature in SEO to increase you ranking.

Example:

http://www.commercecenter.eu/9604-cart_default/osram-ampoule-e14-led-4watt-couleur-lumire-jour.jpg

devrais être

http://www.commercecenter.eu/9604-cart_default/osram-ampoule-e14-led-4watt-couleur-lumière-jour.jpg

ou bien

http://www.commercecenter.eu/9604-cart_default/osram-ampoule-e14-led-4watt-couleur-lumiere-jour.jpg

Just my two cents.

Cheers

Thank you for your reply Papagino.

Maybe you have chance to have one picture by product ;-)

You have reason about accented URL but does existing URL indexed on Google will still work if I change my Friendly URL ?  I lose a lot by changing from osCommerce to Prestashop on last year.  In fact I never returned to the volume of previous sales on osCommerce :-(  We are very very far of our last month on osCommerce.

Kind Regards.

Looking at your shop, the friendly URLs look fine.

But when checking your site with GTMetrix, your site is on the slow side and may be a reason why your sales are lower... Visitors just leave your site because it take to long to load.

A site should load under 4 seconds, yours at around 9 seconds.

See here:

https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.commercecenter.eu/eeDZLalL

It would be a good idea to improve what it is shown on GTMetrix for all of your site pages in order to improve your site loading time.

(slow loading sites is the one major reason why visitors will simply move to the next site)

Cheers

That is amazing this time.  The servers are in Nederlands, I'm in Luxemburg, but each page is loaded in 2-3 seconds.  With my smartphone, it takes only 3-4 seconds with 4G.

Thanks still for your suggesions, I will submit them to the provider.

The version of Store Manager for PrestaShop you're using was released before the official release of PrestaShop 1.6.1, thus it cannot support it yet.

For some reason PrestaShop have made major changes to images structure in the minor release, so the images are not supported at the moment.

We're working on the compatibility and will release this version shortly.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

I tried, but unfortunately nothing is working better for me.  It could be the theme, I contact its builder.

This file worked for me, after I figured out it is in the /shop/classes path.

I had all caches disabled before. Just uploaded via FTP, F5 Browser refresh and the chart pictures are here again. Thanks!

Thanks for the fix PSCSX-6103, and thanks gRoussac, Joakim Kock.

I installed my first prestashop and updated to the latest version... so I didn´t know that in the previous version it was working. I though it was something I did, or server missconfiguration... so I really tested EVERYTHING before searching for and update fix. I think it has been 2 days working on this... :D

Really, thank you all!

The site is available to view http://www.andr3wx86.com/

I see the links are pointing to images that are not the correct URL format.

****EDIT - i noticed that on the product page and quickview popup the images are fine, it is only in the categories and home page that the images do not show****

What is going on?

When I upgraded to 1.6.1.0....I got all "?"...

I found the pictures labeled as example: 104-home-mseKRKziqp.jpg when I had to go in and change the -mseKRKziqp.jpg part to _default.jpg and I got the pictures back. It was a lot of work. Wasn't sure of another way to do it.

Even if I add a new product, I still have to go in my cPanel, find it and rename. I am doing something wrong but have no clue.

Opps...I posted in wrong thread. Going to re-post. Pardon me.
