adding category tree to admincontroller

dear guys,

for a module, i need to display category tree in a new tab under the catalog section. i can create the category tree by using HelperTreeCategories and assigning it to smarty and template. also, the tab under the category section is created.

 

i want to display category tree after opening the tab, but currently it is not shown. which function i need to overwrite? currently i am using init() and calling $this->module->display('view/mymodule.tpl').
