Preparing Upgrades on store

Hello, my  store is on 1.6.0.8 running stable but a bit slow. 

 

So i have 2 questions, 

 

1- Do you guys advise me upgrading to the latest? 

2- Im think of clearing the store cache, what's the best way to do that, and does it causes any impact on store data? (I guess not, but it 's worth checking)

 

Any more advices?

I suggest to wait for 1.6.1.0.
