MrPandaPants
Hi, We like two themes for differing reasons. One theme is really beautiful and captures the essence of what we want in look and feel. But the other theme has lots of modules and functions we like but looks quite plain and underdeveloped. What would be the best way to develop a theme we like. Should we purchase the beautiful theme and make it functional or buy the functional and make it beautiful? Here are the themes we are interested in. Tea shop by leotheme http://www.leotheme.com/prestashop/themes/244-leo-tea.html We like the rolling banner, the rolling featured products on the front page and the integrated blog posts. The menu with drop down categories and and Tea Island by Templatemonster http://www.templatemonster.com/prestashop-themes/43484.html We like the feel of this template and how the search bar and cart are placed. The top menu shape is really welcoming as well as the images in the background. I'm unsure how we could make the leotheme more like the templatemonster theme or vice versa. We are looking for the simplest solution. advice from the community would be great.
selectshop.at
Of course you will have less work if you buy the functional and make it beautiful. For colour change for ex. you can use the theme editor (if the developed theme is using standards of Prestashop as well). Native function you will find under: Modules -> modules -> search for theme configurator -> configure. There on list you will find: "Display Live Configurator" set it to YES if it is not set and than choose "view", now you will be redirected to your page and on left side you will find a new button. There you can change colours and fonts.
MrPandaPants
Thank you for your reply. How difficult would it be for a freelancer to modify the functional template to make it look more like the better looking template?
selectshop.at
Not really a heavy work. For blog, you can use the free module here: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/317230-prestashop-blog-module/ Install all modules from the download there to have a full blog like word press.
