Question about the modules

first sorry for my English I'm french and my english level is ... bad
 

 

So I'm following the Prestashop's documentation concerning the creation module, it concerns Prestashop 1.4, and I wanted to know whether the module system is the same on Prestashop 1.4 and 1.6, whether it still worth pain I follow this documentation respect Prestashop 1.4.

So according to you, I better time for the 1.6 or the 1.4 remains fully adapted to make a good website?
