ganic
Hello I am looking at a Leo theme but my former webmaster told me: "their system how it works in backend is terrible. I also heard this from couple of other people so it would be good to avoid them" What do you think about the themes from Leo Theme ? Is the easy to modify ? I am looking at this here http://themeforest.net/item/leo-clothing-prestashop-theme/11150151 thanks anders

Paulito
Hello I have use Leo Themes a couple of time and found they are excellent. Just remember that Leo Themes state very clearly that they are compatible with Prestashop, this, I think, means they are not using the default Prestshop engine. Leo Themes uses their own framework. I have never had a problem with their themes. If I had to find fault with them, which I don't, the only things I could say are: 1. If you have a problem you get a speedy reply that the problem has been fixed, not how the problem was fixed. 2. Some modules that you buy from Prestashop Add-Ons or developers may not work because of the framework they use. After saying this I have found their themes top notch. Paul PS. I have no connection with Leo Themes, I just give an honest opinion.
ganic
Hi Paul Thank you very much for your response. Do you just use the themes as they are or have you tried to modify them ?
Paulito
Hello Yes, I have used these themes and yes I have modified them. Basically, they are easy to use and modify. But, if you do have a problem you might find it better to ask the Leo Themes forum. But, if it's a basic problem you should be able to get help on the Prestashop forum as long as you provide a url. Just, don't forget that thw engines are different. After saying that, Leo makes some great themes and are always their to help you. Paul

ganic
Hi Paul Before I buy the theme from Leo themes I have send them some questions that I still wait to hear from them. I use one step check out module and I would like to use this again on the new theme. But you write Just, don't forget that thw engines are different. Could you please explain what that means ? Thanks Anders

Paulito
Hello again All I mean to say is, for instance, the engine is the core code, the bit that Prestashop warns you not to touch. This is the bit that you and customers do not see, it is the inner workings of your site. If you buy from Leo or any other theme developer they may have changed some of this code to make their site work. Basically, if you have PS 1.6.0.14 and you buy a theme that is compatiable with 1.6.0.14 then their is no problem. But if you buy a module for your theme it may or may not work because of the changes the developers have made for their theme to work with 1.6.0.14. I know withLeo and other theme developers they will solve your problems. Just remember, at the end of the day, that if you buy a theme it ceases to be entirely a Prestashop theme but becomes a hybrid Paul
