thethreedegrees Posted August 13, 2008 Share Posted August 13, 2008 hello,I have searched throught the forum topics and found articles mostly in French regarding spam and captcha modules.What I would like to know is what is everyone else doing about spam within prestashop?Can we see a captcha module included because I for one do not believe a Captcha will stop people from buying from the cart. zenrider420 Posted September 29, 2008 Share Posted September 29, 2008 Spambots can only harvest email addresses from visible client side code. The contact form calls on the config file to get the email address, so you don't have to worry about it. That data never hits the client side. Bots cannot harvest an email address they cannot find. Make sure you don't put an email address in there yourself while editing your site!However, i have had problems in the past with contact forms where spammers put their crap right into the form itself and send it to you. This is where Captcha comes in. Captcha on the contact form is a pretty decent idea... i have a feeling we will see it in a future release of PS. It would be surprising to me if they didn't...
