ChrsL
Hello Guys, I have been working on understanding the whole theming. I finally found out the main menu css is residing in blocktopmenu directory. I changed it to my likings, but forgot where some things were, so I changed back to the default-bootstrap theme to check it. Once I changed back to my own theme, the blocktopmenu styling was totally gone. There must be some module blocking or changing it. Does anyone have any idea, what might be causing the menu not to load any styling? Thanks! Another question I have is: what is the best workflow in styling a theme? I have been testing different css files and changing stuff one by one to identify them, and this is costing alot of time.
vekia
hello so as i understand, you changed theme, then modified .css file, and then switchet to default-bootstrap, and at the end, you back to your changed theme but now there is no modifications to css ? ChrsL
What I did was this: - create new theme called new-theme (duplicate from default-bootstrap) - edit css (new-theme) - change theme to default-bootstrap - check around settings (top menu has no styling already) - change theme to new-theme (top menu still has no styling) I think there must be some modules causing it to ignore the topmenu css. @update: When I check the source of the page. It doesn't show it's loading the css file at all. What can I do to add it to the "html" file? There are so many index.php files, but none of them shows the loading of each part. ChrsL
I haven't been able to find out what is causing the dissapearance of the styling. I have tried doing a full reinstall -> create theme -> change theme -> change back styling is gone immediately.. new source code doesn't mention anything of blocktopmenu anymore while before the theme change does... OK.. So this module is called: top horizontal menu I have tried unhooking and disabling modules without anything coming back. I cannot keep working with prestashop if I want to use this default theme as a base for my custom theme when everytime I need to change theme it just destroys the top horizontal menu! sepsus
Have the same problem here, did you find any solution?
sepsus
Found the solution, reset the Module, you will find this by module/top navigation on the right side of the panel in the dropdown and than reset. i have to do it twice but then it works
vekia
it can be related to some kind of caching problems anyway, thank you for your solution i marked your answer as a solution to this thread
