Hmm,

try a few more things:

1) Turn on debug mode and see if you get any additional error message

2) Get into phpMyAdmin, and see if your database seems to be corrupted. Pay especially attention to tables like ps_access, ps_employee*, ps_configuration, any table that seems to be connected to logging in.

3) If you see some empty or corrupted tables, check with your host if they have changed anything lately that may have affected your server

4) Check if the host have made any backup lately. If so, maybe ask them to put it back (First make backups of your current version (database AND all your files) and download them to your local computer before you ask them, just to be safe)

5) Did you clean up the cache folder on the server side? (Believe you can throw everything away, except for cache/index.php, but first make a backup just in case)

My 2 cents,

pascal

Hi

I did all your recommendations and still have the problem.

Unfortunately i have no recent backup from my database . but i restored my database to one of my old backups and after that i could login to backoffice .but this Backup is too old and i will loos many of my data and customizations if want to use it .

How can i find and restore only necessary tables from this backup to current database without loosing other data ?

Good to hear you're up again, and you found some reasonably recent backup. This shows the necessity of regular backups!

Also, DON'T rely solely on backups made by your host, as I know of instances where that went wrong as well.

It's indeed strange, that this happened.

I know you mentioned in the original post you tried resetting the password using phpMyAdmin, but didn't give the needed result. I myself have had some successes with this option. If anyone needs this, inMotion has a nice description on how to do this:

http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/prestashop-15/reset-prestashop-admin-password#php-myadmin

Raven, maybe double, double check if this indeed was the way you tried to solve this as well, or that you followed some other description.

Anyway, would be nice to find out how it got corrupted in the first place.

Happy selling,

pascal

  • 11 months later...

This topic is definitely not solved.  STILL a year later and Prestashop is having the same problems.  I had an install have the exact same problems.  One second you can log in and the next locked out for good on the front end and the back end.

Sad thing is there was nothing really changed on the site, didn't even upload products or anything...

problem is solved in case that this merchant had.

case like this usually is unique, so each case like this one needs individual inspection

most important thing: have you cleared browser cache?

Hi.  Yeah I had tried that before.  That method is good if you don't know the password or need to manually change it.  I did confirm with a hash generator that the password I've been entering is correct with your method though.  The difference is when I enter the login credentials, there is no warning in red, it just loops back to the login page and doesn't redirect to the administration panel.

On another note, I've been subscribed to your YouTube channel for a while now.  I actually watched a lot of your Prestashop vids a while back to get familiar with the program.

I have a video I was recording that showed what I was doing before I got locked out.  My admin password and customer password is locked out, except for an internet explorer occurence where my customer password was logged in but now can't be logged out.  haha...oh boy.  But the passwords are right.

This is the browser address before pushing the login button:

This is the browser address after pushing the login button with proper admin credentials:

http://prestashopsandbox.checkeecha.com/nhnpywwx5ucnvxi5/index.php?controller=AdminLogin&token=435d3ea04d3cccf8b169c8a145fcbdd2&redirect=AdminDashboard

Only problem is the page never actually redirects to the AdminDashboard.
