Nathalie W
Hi I just upgraded to PS1.6 and need some help how to add the Google analytics code manually in the themes template files. I don't want to use the built in Analytics module. I have tried to add the code both to the header and the footer but i can't see the code in the source code as i used to do before the upgrade... Anyone knows a way to succeed with this? Thanks!
Prestawise
Did you clear cache after you added the code?
johnwolf
Paste the tracking code in you themes/THEME_NAME/header.tpl just before the closing </head> tag. If it does not work, then paste it in footer.tpl file Edited May 20, 2015 by johnwolf (see edit history)
Tung at RockPOS.com
Also, make sure you are editing the files from the right theme. Hope that helps! Tung
Ryowbw
You can use free module like block html -- > https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/246765-free-html-block-module/ , and put the GA code on your footer.
Nathalie W
Did you clear cache after you added the code? Is there a way to clear cache without doing it via backoffice? I don't really trust anything but manually clearing cached files on my server :-) Thanks!
Nathalie W
Also, make sure you are editing the files from the right theme. Hope that helps! Tung I use the standard theme from 1.6, think it's called bootstrap or something. Is there something special with this theme for adding the code? No matter how i try i can't see the google code in the source code. ..
Tung at RockPOS.com
I think you should attach your file here so people can come and sort it out for you. Tung
