Payments & Gateways - Exchange module

I have been asked to create a payment type 'Exchange'

 

It is just an option to select within the buying process which presents information, no additional configuration required.

 

I have copied cashondelivery module.

Updating reference to 'cashondelivery' to 'exchange'. Aslo matching file and folder name

 

the module appears in 'module list' and I am able to install it.

 

What additional changes do I need to make to allow the module to appear as a active payment method in payments?

 

Any help would be very much appreciated.

This is something you want to appear in front end? 

 

I made a one from bank wire transfer module, but I set it up only to show in the back office. To handle an exchange we use the built in partial refund and that creates a credit slip in the customer account. We then create a new order and create a new voucher for the amount of the exchange. If it creates a zero balance we simply choose exchange as payment. The customer receives a regular "thank you for your order email" but the payment is Exchange and the amount is zero. If the customer wants to add additional items then the credit is applied as a new voucher and the balance is charged VIA the payment choice of the customer.
