Matt_
Hi This is not a new installation:I set-up and configured it months back (moved it to the root and modified many parts of the theme, etc.). My host moved it from a shared server to a dedicated one. Now it uses a old version and all products contain the old sub-directory in their urls. And display the old menu and some deleted products. The domain name is still the same (I can get to the proper version by adding say "/search.." to the domain). When I looked at each table in the database, all was the same - including the shop_url. As far as I noticed all back-end settings were correct. I recreated the '.htaccess' file by disabling and re-enabling the friendly url setting - no difference. Also I disabled caching and all smarty options beforehand. How can I make the site display as it was on the shared hosting?
tdr170
You need to set the base url to / in Preferences - SEO & URLs then regenerate your .htaccess file
Matt_
Thanks but no change. Although the base was already "/", I changed and re-created and set as "/" again, re-created. Also I checked the .htaccess file it doesn't mention the wrong uri (or any part there-of). Any other suggestions?
tdr170
In your host control panel under Domains look for Pointers and see what the domain is pointing to chances are the domain still points the the sub folder. If not sure call your provider and ask them to have a look explaining what has happened.

tdr170
In the case of my host its called pointers, From Domain central you click on the domain I have 2 then on the pointers tab. In this case the the Domain is in a Sub directory.
