selectshop.at
Is there any way to apply for this version in development ? Where can I download it ? Edited May 29, 2015 by selectshop.at (see edit history)
Wuisma
I think that Prestashop 1.6.1 is yet in development so they have not a Beta version. You can download the git version from here https://github.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop (that's the closest version to 1.6.1).
selectshop.at
No, isn't the same. Version on github is the one with fixed bugs from what I can see...
kulli
how to install 1.6.1 RC3 ? I can not get through
selectshop.at
Cannot confirm any problem with install. Installed without any issue. If your are searching for EU-legal implemented (only new feature is newsletter opt-in), forget it. BTW I don't know why this module is called by this name. Nobody in Portugal, Spain, Italy and other EU-Countries with non native language German do not need this module. For my customers in AT and DE I will continue to adapt the software without overrides and further problems on upgrades by my way, since I'm doing on all versions PS 1.3 upwards. It is the best way and the only one without any issues in the future and any great efforts on code change. kulli
thanks for your answer seams like a new server problem on my server written to the hoster und hope.... yes i want testing the new features for german, i have also tried to implement german law with no eu_legal, but i´m a no-coder and have many problems to make it. i cant say anything to your problem, cause my problem with install is still existing Edit: german forum is "out of order" again, cause disputes with one official and users.... selectshop.at
I editted my topic: You need to install all modules before. Otherwise site is blank.... But as you can see: no price as we need in AT and DE... No delivery time... Erspare dir die Zeit zum Testen. Viel Neues gibt es nicht, außer dass das Lay-out im Back eine kleinere Schrift kleiner wurde (gut für diejneigen, die eh schon ne Brille brauchen...) und neue Farben erhalten hat. selectshop.at
i have also tried to implement german law with no eu_legal, but i´m a no-coder and have many problems to make it. If you follow the old links for manual adaptation (mine cd2500 aka guest* now and BluTiGes) for version PS 1.5. you will get it. The latest coding you can also bid by PM to BluTiGes. He was my coder, cause I'm a technician for server problems and not really a coder. All our adaptations are theme made, so if you clone the native theme and make the adaptations on this cloned theme, you will not get any problem with upgrades. Only the adaptations made to payment modules, here it is better make the adaptation one time and don't upgrade the module unless there is a security leak on it. thepan
Good evening together @selectshop.at Did you try it with the new module HERE? (careful link to dev branch of module) It seems like you only tried the plain installation of the RC3 that doesn't include the new module. I though all eu law changes would be fitted directly into core but as it seems they are going with a module approach what makes sense since its not a necessity for everyone around the world. selectshop.at
Why should I try ? The discussion here is that EU-Legal is not integrated, not in the core, not on module list. So nothing changed at all. the module is an extra not propagated (only on German Community where the developers are). Where is Prestashop Team ? Seems that there is no interest on to solve the German problems core based at all (and this since years as all know staying with Prstashop since long time....) Besides, yes I tried the module one month ago. I don't need this module, I prefer as I told on topic #9 adapt the software by myself without any overrides to the core, on the old fashioned way I was doing before with PS 1.4 and PS 1.5. Adaptations only template based. This is more secure and you are free to upgrade the software without any fear that a module will not work after a simply inherit version upgrade, or interfere in the core features. Not really. This should be incorporated on localization and not as an extra module. Each country has own laws and extras, so it should be hooked there and not as a module. thepan
Good afternoon all together I didn't mean to allege anything. You can do stuff how ever you like to do it. Obviously you are not happy with the way Prestashop is implementing the eu law requirements, but that simply doesn't mean they don't exist. I see your point and i also would like the specific requirements passed along with other localisation settings. But i also see not a big problem with having a module solving this. The real turn off for me is that you make a blog post and link it here stating the eu law requirements are not implemented in the new PS version. That might be true for the RC3 but only because the new eulaw module is not yet available for installation out of the backoffice selection. (What makes it some steps harder for some people to figure out) And that will change the moment they add it to the list. So i dont want to tell you how to do what you do, i just want to tell everyone else that Prestashop is working on it and that there is a way to actually see the eu legal implementation as long as you willed to do a few extra steps. Peace
selectshop.at
As I see you are involved on this. Can you tell me only one reason why this module is called EU-Legal ? There is no reason for this. The module does cover only AT and DE laws and no one else laws of the other EU countries. Not usable in Italy, not usable in Spain and not usable in Portugal, besides there are many other EU-Countries and this module not touching any other laws in the other EU countries. The EU-Legal is simply a German solution for the GERMAN problems with law conformity. Who is working on it (from what I know only 2 German developers). Do they know the needs of other markets outside Germany ? Sorry, but I don't think so. Neither Prestashop know this. Only some basic legal instruments are covered (language, measures, currency, tax, and that's all). To call a module EU is more than to have German Law conformity implemented. For this it is more than obvious that it is better to have specific things of a country included into localisation and not into a module. Some little things of EU-Legal is neither applicable in AT, the reason that also for AT it is not usable in all parts. So at the end again a solution for Germany and not for EU. What I write on my site, is indeed my personal and own thing. If you read carefully the specific title is "We tested PS 1.6.1.RC3" and here the module EU is not integrated. You cannot deny that on this specific version there is no EU-Legal. Not in modules list, not integrated in core, and nowhere on other place on back-office. An integration into core is as I enumerated lines before not purposeful for all other EU countries having other laws. thepan
Nope i am not involved at all with the development. Just a developer following the process. Why the module is called "eu legal" or the new one "advancedeucompliance"? They both claim to implement the required changes to make Prestashop suitable for the use in countries located in the European union, but you know that already I am unaware of the problem that those modules are not applicable in other eu countries, since my development is concentrated on German shops. But as you mention it now i see why its the case. The EU-Legal developers, silbersaiten and gurkcity. are located in Germany and for obvious reasons are handling German customers. Therefore developed a solution for there customers. And i guess they are also pretty unaware and maybe even uninterested what other requirements other eu countries have. So you are right the module shouldnt be named "EU legal" as long as it is not suitable for all EU countries. The same does apply to the new "advancedeucompliance". But since the Prestashop developers just started to focus on such a module, and, as it seems, copied most parts of the "eu legal" module, they haven't looked at the problems of other eu countries yet. Maybe they are even unaware or just deaf(prestashop often seems unintrested and i dont like that either!). I cant judge that since i am not involved in discussions about changes necessary for other eu countires. Anyway I think this is a step in the right direction and as i always keep saying "progress not perfection". EDIT: BTW I guess the reason why the module is not listed in the back office, is because it isnt ready for use yet?! And maybe they would appreciate some input on github from people like you who obviously seem to know where improvement is required. selectshop.at
Step in the right direction = Yes EU-Legal name = incorrect, inaccurate and false, why it should be renamed in DE-Legal, cause the module not even suits for AT completely and also not for CH in the whole form. thepan
After taking a closer look into the "advancedeucompliance" code, i found, that there is indeed the plan to implement localised settings that get feeded from the localisation packs. See HERE. Still work in progress of course.
selectshop.at
advancedeucompliance I've lip-deep tested and added the bugs to forge. Thanks for link, I'm already following progress of the module. Edited May 27, 2015 by selectshop.at (see edit history)
thepan
Is there an easy way to make the latest build from github work with all the latest module versions? Like a script to download it all into one zip? And what other steps should be done to make the zip file from github work like the one you provide as RC3? I know about the defines.inc changes so far. selectshop.at
Simply deinstall the old module, delete it, download the dev-branch (which is always acutal), upload it to FTP unzipped and install again. BTW some of the bugs reported are fixed, but there are several others. Let me see, if we can fix this before 1.6.1. is released. (I'm not confident concerning the payment modules with API, cause the normal behaviour is to redirect to payment provider without summary cart). Payment with api are not working at the moment with advancedeucompliance. Besides the module is only usable with 5-steps check-out. A not really salesfriendly process. Most of users break up the process. OPC should be integrated, but the module has some bigger bugs with OPC.
