Change image background

Recommended Posts

I have a problem I was hoping someone can help me with. I am selling T-shirts and I came across a website that was displaying what I wanted so I know its possible.  I want to upload an image of a t-shirt and the Tshirt is transparent with a image in the center of it. I want to make it so that when a customer clicks on a color the tshirt changes color but the image in the middle of the shirt stays the same. Can anyone help me accomplish this?

EXAMPLE Below:

I'm not trying to add a T-shirt image for every color I have. Just one T-Shirt image where the t-shirt on the image itself is transparent and when you click a color only the color of the t-shirt changes not the image itself just the background. Did I explain that right? Can you understand what I'm saying?

You will need a Pint Shop or image program to change the background color I use Paint Shop Pro but any will do make one image for each color.

Now In BO go to Catalog - Product Attribute, in the Upper right corner Click add new attribute.

Give it a name such as Tshirt color I use this for both name and public name, then in drop down select color or texture and save.

Now in upper right corner click add new Value in the top selection select the attribute you created then in the next box (Value=color) type the color then pick that color from the color wheel below and click save. (texture not used here)

Now continue adding values for each color that you have created color images for.

I use blue t a default:

Now go to Catalog -  Products select the category for the Tshirts and Add new product, this will be the default color so in reference code use something like tshirtBL. (blue T)

If you input something in Desciption don't put something about any one color as this will not change with color selected.

Now Go to Price tab and input price for Tshirts this will be the color of the Blue t and will apply to all unless you add increase or decrease in following steps.

Now go to Images and upload all images you created earlier, I like to upload in order that I want colors listed but not really necessary.

Now go to Combination tab and click Add new combination, in the top drop select the attribute you created  for the Tshirts then select that color and click add since this is default no need to add reference or price change so go to bottom and select Make this default combination and select that Tshirts color from the images displayed and click save and stay.

So repeat this for each color adding a reference to the combinations for the remaining colors, if any of the tshirts vary in price use the impact on price to increase or decrease to adjust prices, then at bottom select the image that is related to the combination you just created click save and stay.

When done adding combinations go to the Quantity tab and input quantity for each color and save.

I hope this is what you needed.

When done you should now have something like this:
