bad configuration file on theme installation

Hi! I cannot undestand the problem. I cannot install a theme. The theme is just a copy, renamed, of the active one. I've tried the manual installation, the guided one via backoffice default installer, the installer module... nothing. All the ways don't let me install it. I cannot see it, I get a 'bad configuration file' if I load a zip or, if I move the dir on the them folder, I get another error about smarty indexes and things like that.

Now, it's the very same of the current active theme, only renamed. What's the problem here?

I'm on prestashop 1.6.0.11
