razvy
Hi, I've just noticed that if I change the friendly URL of an existing product, the old URL is redirected to the new one. Is it safe for Google or it will consider it as duplicate content and penalise my pages? How is this achieved by Prestashop? By a redirect in .htaccess? Is it a permanent redirect (301) or temporary redirect (302)? As far as I know, if it is made through a .htaccess permanent redirect, that it is safe for Google, but I can't tell if that's the case... Thanks! parsifal
Firefox's Network Console says it's 301: These never count as duplicate content, of course. Edited April 22, 2015 by parsifal (see edit history)
Zohaib-fk
HI, Google search engine and other do not consider page redirect or duplicate content good practise. You can enable SEO feature in prestashop from back-office. This will make website url seo friendly with doing any coding or change in .htaccess file.
