MarMis
I try to clear the smarty cache but got the following error: "To use Smart Cache directory must be writable" (I ticked the button "force compilation" and ticked box "no") I have contacted my provider and got the following reply: Hello,The error means that PrestaShop has detected that the directories it needs to use for caching are not writeable, which is the source of the error you are seeing. However, the cache directories have files in them and are being updated, which contradicts what that page is saying. I suspect PrestaShop is using a faulty mechanism to determine whether the filesystem is writeable, but it's setting the option anyway and working just fine. You have a *lot* of cache files on your account right now, so it would be hard to believe otherwise. If you see a problem related to caching not being available apart from that error, please let us know. Otherwise, you may need to take this issue up on the PrestaShop forums and ask for assistance there, since they will be much more familiar with the software you are using. If anyone suggests changes to your account, just let us know and we will be happy to assist you further. So what do I need to do now???
tuk66
Ask your administrator again and want a solution. Smarty cache folders are not writable by PHP scripts so Smarty can not use cache. It is very clear.
