mowax
I have been advertising my site with google adwords for some weeks now, and although I am getting traffic, it is not making sales. The design is no master piece thats for sure, but its not that bad is it? I would really appreciate any comments and criticisms on the website, and anything that could be the cause of the low conversion rate! Thanks
Dahl99
Hi,the website looks good to me, I like what you've done with the theme which fits in with your product (I'm no mat specialist mind, lol). It's got plenty of info and isn't over fussy with lots of spinning graphics etc.As for the conversion rate I don't really know the reason for the high number of visits but lack of sales as I have a similar problem with the site I built, www.funkyfashionjewellery.comAt one stage the site was on page 1, 2 or 3 of Google but this week has gone down to page 10. I've not changed anything so I'm at a loss as to why.Good luck with the site though and hope things improve. If you find a magic formula please let me know.Regards

Ciscowrig
Are you targeting the right group? If you're using the code that pulls the searchers keywords, that might be your problem. That is going to generate a lot of junk referrals. If your 2 line description isn't specific enough to what your selling that may also be a problem with the junk referrals.Have you registered your sitemap with google? I know we weren't getting a lot of valid referrals until we did that.Broad targeting is fine in some cases, but when you sell specific products, if you broad target, your budget may be taken up by junk referrals and not referrals specific to you. mowax
Thanks for the replies guys2 Dahl99 - thanks for the comments on my website, its good to hear that is not the likely cause. If I find the magic formula, I will sell it through an online store!2 Tomerg3 - these are my stats from yesterday:****************Server Activity Totals Total Sessions Served 110Total Hits 1405Total Page Hits 214Total Non Page Hits 1191Total Session Duration 4756sTotal Transferred 14.46 MBServer Activity Averages Total Sessions Served 110Average Hits Per Session 12Average Page Hits Per Session 1Average Session Duration 43sAverage Transfer/Session 134.59 kBPage views per session breakdown 12 (10.9%) sessions made 0 page requests62 (56.4%) sessions made 1 page requests28 (25.5%) sessions made 2-5 page requests4 (3.6%) sessions made 6-10 page requests4 (3.6%) sessions made 11-20 page requests0 (0.0%) sessions made 21-50 page requests0 (0.0%) sessions made 51-100 page requests0 (0.0%) sessions made 101+ page requestsTime spent per session breakdown 93 (84.5%) sessions lasted 0 minutes7 (6.4%) sessions lasted 1 minutes7 (6.4%) sessions lasted 2-5 minutes3 (2.7%) sessions lasted 6-15 minutes0 (0.0%) sessions lasted 16-30 minutes0 (0.0%) sessions lasted 31-45 minutes0 (0.0%) sessions lasted 46-60 minutes0 (0.0%) sessions lasted 61+ minutes*******************Through my adword campaigns I have had a total of 190 clicks, and I have had 1 sale, so I'm scraping a 0.5% conversion rate. Perhaps these statistics are still too small to analyse, so I will not despair just yet.I am competitively priced, and I have noticed that the price between different suppliers varies a lot, meaning the market is not totally saturated. Thanks for the tip on the LiveZilla feature, I will look into it!2 Ciscowrig - I have submitted a sitemap to google a couple of months ago. I think the ads are quite targeted, these are the different ads I have running and their focus:1. UK Rubber Matting Supply - this is a general one that contains keywords for all the different rubber mats in the store2. Logo / Entrance Mats UK - this is a general one that contains keywords for all the entrance mats and mats with graphics3. UK Stable Matting Supply - this one is product specific, as stable matting is the most searched for rubber matting type4. Home Gym Flooring Supply - this one is product specific, as gym matting is the second most search for typeThe product specific ads are bringing in the most visitors at the moment, so I am thinking of making ads for each individual product. Is that advisable? Thanks again for your input!
jhnstcks
Your payment logos on the right lead to the default page still and hasnt got much information in it. Also the secure payment link in the info block leads to the same page.As a customer i would expect an address, phone number and email contact details in the contact us page. The "In the same category" section on your product page, the product titles are being cut off by the truncate code so you cant actually read the full product title, same goes for the blockcart.I couldnt find anywhere that tells me how much postage will be.Your returns section is a bit suspect and could be breaking distance selling regulations. (dont think you can charge a restocking fee, and it isnt your customers respondsibility to send the item back aslong as they make it available for recovery). mowax
Thanks for the input jhnstcks, I've attended to some of the comments and will look into the rest. Could you share how you modify the truncate code so it doesn't hide the product titles? Sounds quite advanced.
jhnstcks
Its quite easy actually. Just edit the relevant tpl file, for example the cart block, would be blockcart.tpl in the blockcart module folder.Find where it says truncate: 15 and change it to a higher number. paradate
Correct me if I'm wrong but I did not see any "Checkout" button on your site. You have to make it very clear.
paradate
Ok, I have a recommendation for you:Instead of "Next" replace the button to "Checkout"
