Tweenman
Hello, Would someone tell me if PrestaShop can calculate Massachusetts sales tax out of the box without me paying a coder to modify php files?
D-fox
I guess yes, but please specify how specific is Massachussets sales tax.Is it a % ? on what condition(s) it applies ?is it fixed amount ?
Tweenman
Excuse me, it was late...The issue is that (in MA) tax is charged only on an individual clothing item costing more than $175.00. So, the tax is only on the amount over that. For example, an item costs $200. MA tax is only on the $25 difference. $200.00 - $175.00 = $25.00 x (taxed @)6.25% = $1.56 + $200.00 = $201.56 totalThanks for your time.
tomerg3
As far as I know, Prestashop doesn't allow that "out of the box".
Tweenman
Geez, I feel like I'm chasing a unicorn here; this is the sixth ecommerce solution I've found that requires a hatchet job to compensate for a non-robust tax mechanism--the core of any store. The world isn't flat, so why are all these tax modules coded so one dimensional.
tomerg3
Prestashop originated in France, and Therefor many of it's features are geared towards Europeans rules. As you can imagine, there are different Tax rules all over the world which makes it even harder. It may be worth getting someone to put in the 2-3 hours and customize it for your needs. 10mall
Geez, I feel like I'm chasing a unicorn here; this is the sixth ecommerce solution I've found that requires a hatchet job to compensate for a non-robust tax mechanism--the core of any store. The world isn't flat, so why are all these tax modules coded so one dimensional. It's free. Need I say more?
