Default language (PS 1.3.0) not displayed properly in FF, Chrome, Safari

PS Version : 1.3.0

The default language, set in the backend, is not displayed in the frontend in FF, Chrome and Safari. Instead the english language is displayed. I have checked the database and the configuration table language ID is set properly.

In IE8 it is displayed correctly!!! (thats funny ;-)

This is not a cookie problem because i deleted the whole website history every time i tested this.

I wonder how it is possible that IE8 is the only browser is that does it correctly?

I logged this as a bug in the tracker, and got an answer.
The default language is only used when there is no alternative.

PS tries to first check if there is a cookie with the language.
IF not then it tries to determine the language of your browser.
If it cant, then it will default to the set language.

But what if you have an english browser, but you are dutch for example.
I dont want to use a dutch browser, but PS has to be in dutch.

IT would be nice if the language setting in the back-end would FORCE the default language.
Is it not called "default" for a reason?
