theslk
Hi My site is driving me crazy, it can be viewed here: http://178.62.112.76/ My version is 1.6.0.11 I have various prestashop's. This is my main one. I have a csv to upload with 10'000 products on it The CSV is correct - titles, images, prices etc - all correct When i upload the first few images are correct but then after that it uploads completely different images to those in the CSV so i get the title correct, price correct, manufacturer etc - all correct - but then for some crazy reason it just uploads different images. Help, this is driving me crazy! Simon
NemoPS
You mean some images do not match, or they are simply broken?
theslk
They do not match. They are correct on the CSV but incorrect when they appear on the site.
NemoPS
What if you try uploading a single one of those broken entries, on its own?
theslk
It uploads perfectly if i do that (There are 10'000 though so i cannot do that for all).
NemoPS
Hm, try splitting the file into multiple pieces at this point, I see no other solution
Enfys
My website is doing this also. I uploaded a small batch of products as a test, and for one of them it imported the correct image, and also an incorrect image taken from another product entirely. It used the incorrect image as the default. I have checked, the CSV is correct: each of my test products has only one image, and the product in question has the correct URL in the spreadsheet. I'm baffled! And concerned ... I have many more products to upload.
Enfys
Have you checked if the products relating to the incorrect images are actually there - mine aren't! I just uploaded another load of test products and 8 of them have this error. i.e. they all have the correct image uploaded, but in addition another image had been added from another product entirely. On closer inspection, the products relating to the incorrect images are not there! So: I tried to upload 53 products. 42 seem to have uploaded 8 of these have multiple images, with an incorrect one as the default The same 8 products are missing. 1 product has a duplicate incorrect image Probably not relevant, but just in case ... I got errors from Prestashop on 2 products (not uploaded) This is not great! I checked the data for the products with multiple images, but they all relate to the correct product. Where has the data for the incorrect products gone? Why is it doing this, how can I make it stop?! Has anyone else had similar problems?
Enfys
The plot thickens ... I deleted the batch of test products I mentioned above, and uploaded the same CSV again to see what would happen. This time the same thing has happened - but to different products. So, this time, I uploaded the same 53 products, but only 43 are listed as products. I have 12 with incorrect images, but not the same group of products / incorrect images as before. That's a very high error rate! I have two products with errors exactly the same as before (probably irrelevant but just in case it's not? ) 3 errors [my product name] (ID: 94) cannot be saved Property Product->meta_description is not valid [another product name] (ID: 95) cannot be saved Can't see any pattern yet ... Just hoping this sounds familiar to someone! Edited March 27, 2015 by Enfys (see edit history)
Enfys
I think I've found the solution to my similar issues, posting here as I hope it'll help! I re-saved my CSV, using the correct setting: "UTF-8 coding" this time, and now all my images and products have imported correctly (as far as I can see at first glance anyway - it's the correct number, with the right images now). To save the CSV with UTF-8 coding follow this advice (although save it as a CSV not a text file) https://www.assetbank.co.uk/support/documentation/knowledge-base/tab-utf-8-excel/ Incidentally I found the answer to the problem here, they have a few more bits of general advice - maybe useful? http://blog.prestashopmanager.com/2013/08/prestashop-import-gotchas.html Edited April 1, 2015 by Enfys (see edit history)
