HTTP 500 Internal Server Error, Ways to fix?

Hi everyone,

I recently uploaded a large amount of categories to my prestashop site, everything still works fine except for when I try to access the products page in the back office, it gives me a 500 error, when I checked what the actual issue was it states that its out of memory at around 90M with PHP.  I then upped the memory to 196M in the php.ini file and still have problems with the memory, it is still saying that its out of memory at 90M, even though the php info page shows the 196M being available aswell as the prestashop configuration settings also showing the memory.

Am I missing something? should I have altered something in the htaccess file?

Ask your server administrator. Especially on shared hostings, changes in php.ini are often ignored.
