Import Questions?

The import function looks great just a couple questions.
1. Does the import update existing products?
2. Can it be set up automated on a timer to import a feed from a supplier?
Both these items would be important for a distributor I am using.

2. i know there is no automated import option, because each time you import you have to select the which fields are which on the import.
1.i dont believe it updates existing products, i believe you have to delete the product them re import with same product id.
but im not 100% sure, only 51% sure
