AffordableFiberOptics
Good Afternoon all. I wanted to get a couple thoughts on an issue I ran into today. I recently made the shop live and basically used a redirect from the domain to point to a directory on the web server (301 Redirect) Can the search bots find the data in the directory as easily as it could find the data in the domain root?I read something today that said the bots often wouldn't index a site that uses a 301 redirect.Should I basically take everything out of the directory and put it all in the root?Thoughts are always appreciated.Thanks.Patrick
tomerg3
I personally prefer the root directory, it looks better and is te common practice. The only reason i can think of to keep it in a sub directory is if you have a regular site, and want to have a link to your shop from it.Search engines usually follow 301 redirects, but if it is done for every page in your site, it may make them lower your rank, and it will slow things down fo users and for search engines
