FredActin
Hi there, I created a duplicate of a Live website a couple of month ago in order to upgrade the version of Prestashop (prestashop 1.4 to 1.6) and the design. Now the test website is pretty much ready but I need to transfer all the up-to-date data from the Live website to the Test website before transferring the whole Test website back to the live server (I hope this makes sense). So the job is for transferring all the Live, current data to the test website. There is - less than 4000 product IDs (some of them have combinations, not sure how many combinations there is though) - less than 7000 orders - less than 7000 customers You don't need to create a script, I just need this to be done once so I guess database manipulation is fine if you it's easier for you. Some of the data is already there as I started with a copy of the live website but I guess that's irrelevant. To avoid having new orders I guess I can close the shop for a short period of time - less than 24h if possible, please advise if this is suitable in your experience. Please also quote extra for transferring the Test website back to the Live server when it is ready, so that you do everything in one go. Please reply to this thread if you have any questions and / or send your quote by PM. If you need the website URL I'll send it by PM. Thanks in advance! FredActin
Hi all, Many thanks for the messages - I have received some great applications from excellent freelancers and companies and I have found someone for the job. let us know how this works out for you...there is addon to do this on market place, it's 800 euros or dollars...not sure why you went at upgrade this way but would love to here your experience of end results. Because I could do the upgrade myself it was a lot cheaper for me to simply ask someone to do a one-off migration of customer data when ready. I'm not sure how else I could have done the upgrade to preta 1.6 - upgrading Prestashop, checking all the modules (some custom), creating the new template takes time so I wanted to test everything before making it live. I guessed making a copy of the live website to a test server was the best thing to do in this instance? If you have another way I would love to hear it for next time.
