Removing product 'boxes' on 'default-bootstrap' theme

The background of my product photos are white so I was trying to delete the box (on the default theme - see image) that appears around it (both when hovering and not) to give it a 'clean' look. I tried commenting out all of the instances of 'border' in global.css but to no avail, but when I accidentally commented out the bottom half of the file they disappeared so I know there is a way of getting rid of them, they just aren't under 'border'.

 

Anybody know?
