dzandziras
Hi everyone, I am new here and I start to set up and develop our company e-store. I have never used Prestashop or another eCommerce platform. I would like to ask you just a simple question ... for now : - when i set up an online store based on Prestashop is it possible to change the template after that - to migrate to another, different template from the first? - if it's possible, is it easy to do it? Would I lose some data in migration process? Thank you in advance!
parsifal
Of course it's possible and in most cases it's also easy, since templates ("themes", in Presta-speak) will usually have (at least some basic) documentation to guide you through their installation and configuration. You won't lose critical data of your eshop. Mostly because you shouldn't think of it as a "migration" which implies some radical changes at the heart of things. It's more like "installing a template" in one of the popular CMS systems like WordPress and Joomla (I don't know if you're familiar with any of these). parsifal
Also, an advice if I may, before you go forward with your project: IMO, it's best to start by building a quick "mock" project with PrestaShop, get familiar with the specifics and operations of the platform (including the installation and configuration of a new theme), then scratch this mock project and start over with your normal website.
