klaypigeon
I have been wrestling with this thing for the better part of a week. We cannot launch site. I log into my manager account at PayPal with no issues. I take the exact same credentials and give them to the PayPal module and it says my credentials are wrong. I have uninstalled, cleared cache, tried again, FAIL. A little logging would be helpful, fail, no logs. Is this really how PrestaShop rolls? Tell me now, I will trash the thing and go to Magento. PayPal business technical support is calling me tomorrow at work and they should have some visibility into the back end to see what is going on.. If I find out Prestashop is mangling my credentials or worse, not passing them at all, I am so done. However, that rant over, if anyone knows how to fix this, please do pipe in. This is my first time with PS so maybe it is just a quirk.
El Patron
'thing' and 'fail' is not much to go on for best results post your PS version, which PayPal module you are using and it's version. think of what information you yourself would need to help solve issue... klaypigeon
Thanks for your reply. (11k posts? You sir are a super star.) I worked with a PayPal integration specialist and this was the finding. The special character * in my PayPal Manager password was not being properly encoded by PrestaShop. He said something about improper hex encoding I believe. I do not know if this could be an issue with my PHP or Apache but regardless I think I can now call it a defect in some manner. We were able to reproduce the issue and then correct it several times. I did not test it with any other special characters. The * works fine if I go directly to my manager account. ...now if I can just find out why the carrier ranges are not applying price adjustments and why the social sharing module is sharing the wrong product I will be in good shape :/

If you would be so kind, could you open a bug report on this issue to save someone else? http://forge.prestashop.com/ then if you could repost that bug link here for others to follow/comment and vote up that would be awesome. as for your other issues, please use new posts to get best community review. again thanks and really glad you got this solved, I can imagine what a trial it must have been. klaypigeon
lol, I tried but I must be a bug magnet today. The forge's auth server must be messed. The token they send me to change my password times out immediately instead of in 24hrs. Sigh, been that kind of week. If I remember I will set that bug report up. Otherwise hopefully my language was clear enough that is is google-able in the forum.
