Footer disappeared

Hi,

The footer on all the pages of my website suddenly disappeared and I cannot work out how to get it back.

 

All was fine and then I installed some language packs. I don't want the translations, just the states. After I had installed these, I suddenly realised my footer had disappeared.

 

Everything looks normal in the Modules positions etc.

 

I did read about a bug involving translations and the editing of these two files:

– /controllers/admin/AdminTranslationsController.php
– /classes/Translate.php

 

I tried the change to these files and all it did was display a blank white page for both FO and BO so I have changed them back.

 

Can anyone advise me on what I should do?

please turn on error reporting

will see if there are some errors

I followed the instructions at the start of the forum on how to turn on error reporting then went to the FO and refreshed a few times and there was nothing.

It is set to recompile on change but there must be something I am missing because there were no messages.

Any errors show up when you use the browser console.  In Firefox,  go to the three bars in the right hand corner underneath the tabs, then click developer, then click browser console.  Other browsers have different, but similar, paths.

There are several tabs in Browser Console. Is there a particular tab that is the applicable one in this case?

 

Thanks. I really need to fix this. It looks terrible. I had previously tried 4 Prestashop developers who advertise on Google Adwords to do this installation and configuration for me. One said he was too busy and the other 3 didn't even answer. So, I have to work this out myself.

Well you have loads of "footer-blocks" which all have empty URL's.

All these footer-blocks are making the screen longer in size. And in one of your last footer-blocks you are having your footer-bottom-area with links.

If I disable your footer-blocks the size in length of your website is normal again. But then again it will remove the footer-bottom-area.

 

This should be somewhere in your footer template, can you upload this template to the forum so we can take a look into it?

I think I got it.

The footer is Smart Custom Footer and when I go to Configure it looks like it somehow keeps adding new blocks. I just deleted one block and the whole lot deleted. Now I have a footer again.

I have same kind of issue, the CMS Block footer container has disappeared in FO, it´s founded website source code but not showing on page. I´m using custom theme 1.7.4.2, problem occured since after 1-click upgrade. Tried already to delete and reinstall CMS Block module, no influence. Attached source code of footer below, any from those links isn´n available in site. I have tried to modify link widget, no influence. Website address is www.mobiilivaruste.fi.  I think it´s some file with theme folder, because if changes default theme, the footer and cms link are working correctly.

Any error logs is not written by.

Please can someone help me locate and fix the problem?
